Tabsite provides users with a number of ways to customize their Facebook fan pages. Users can drag and drop widgets right onto their fan pages. Tabsite supplies a variety of widgets to choose from. Content widgets allow the user to add text, tables, links and font styles. Image widgets give the user a way to drag and drop images onto a fan page. Google Chrome and FireFox browsers can access the “drag to upload” feature that allows the user to upload images and add them directly to the fan page. Video widgets enable embedding from Vimeo, YouTube and FLV content. A YouTube channel widget is also available as well as network-specific widgets. These include Facebook social widgets that give fan page visitors the ability to “like,” share or send fan pages. Additional widgets include those for Twitter, RSS feeds, HotLink, PhotoShow, SWF Flash, contact forms and Google Maps.Show more screenshots »
Tabsite was founded in March of 2010 by Mike Gingerich and Troy Rumfelt. The application was intended to give professionals and businesses more power over their Facebook fan pages. The application currently offers a wide range of widgets as well as a great deal of information on fully utilizing Facebook pages for marketing purposes. In September of 2011, the founders presented a Facebook marketing webinar to help users improve the way they utilize Tabsite.
Tabsite focuses on widgets to help users customize their fan pages. While many similar applications provide templates and backgrounds, Tabsite offers up very practical tools that can create a unique page. The user can add almost anything using the application’s widgets, from images to videos, text and RSS feeds. Tabsite also gives users a way to make their Facebook pages interactive with other social networks, including Twitter, Google Plus and YouTube.
The user interface included with Tabsite is another reason it is an effective solution. Users do not have to have coding experience to create a fully customizable and functional Facebook fan page using the application. The drag and drop system works for anyone. With a single click, the user can retrieve a widget and drag it right over their Facebook page. This also allows the user to see what their page currently looks like and how the new widget will change it. Tabsite is about as user friendly as it gets when it comes to customizing Facebook fan pages.
New users can create a Tabsite account by clicking the gold “Sign Up Free!” button in the upper, right hand corner of the homepage. The next page presents users with a blue and white “Connect with Facebook” button. Clicking the button takes the user to the Facebook login area. Users are required to connect with their Facebook profile. This makes sense since the application works entirely through Facebook. Those who do not have a profile will not be able to use Tabsite’s features.
Tabsite gives users four membership plan options. The first is a free plan which allows two fan pages, up to two sub pages per main tab, 1 MB of storage space, mini website tools, content text editor access, image widgets, email sign up forms and the Google Maps widget. The free plan includes footer advertisements. The Bronze plan costs $5 per month and includes five sub pages, up to 25 MBs of storage space, no advertisements and video, HotLink and Flash widgets. The Silver plan costs $10 per month and includes up to four fan pages, 10 sub pages, 50 MBs of storage space and access to the contact form, PhotoShow, ProductShow, VideoShow, RSS feed, Twitter, iFrame and YouTube channel widgets. The Gold plan costs $15 per month and includes 11 Fan pages, unlimited sub pages, 250 MBs of storage space, third mini site column, document manager access and the code, Facebook social and Google Plus widgets.
Tabsite.com is an effective solution for professionals, businesses and anyone else who would like to construct a professional, functional Facebook fan page. The widgets allow the user to offer more options to their fan page visitors. Using the widgets available on Tabsite, the user’s fan page can become an important part of their marketing campaign.
